“50 Total credit hours every two-year renewal cycle: Physicians licensed by the West Virginia Board of Medicine must complete 50 hours of Continuing Medical Education every two-year renewal cycle, 30 of which must be in the licensee’s specialty.  “

“32 Total credit hours every two-year renewal cycle: Physicians licensed by the West Virginia Board of Osteopathic Medicine must complete 32 CME Credit hours during every two-year renewal cycle. A minimum of 16 hours must be completed through activities accredited for AOA Category 1A or AB Credit.”

Controlled Substance CME Requirement

“3 Credit hours addressing Controlled Substances and Prescribing: Physicians who have prescribed, administered, or dispensed any controlled substance pursuant to a West Virginia license in the two-year license cycle preceding renewal, are required to complete 3-hours of Board-approved CME in drug diversion training and best practice prescribing of controlled substances training during each reporting period.”
